1971

Founded on the principal of producing E- glass fiber products, polyester resin, bituminous tissue, oxidized bitumen, and GRP products. Fibrocam which is the glass tissue facility of Cam Elyaf begins its manufacturing.

1972

The feasibility studies (The project) begins for glass fiber manufacturing
and the preparations is almost completed in the same year.

1973

It is being started the installation of the first furnace with a capacity of
4.000 tons with know-how of NGF (Japan)

1974
Chopped Strand Mat production machines which is designed by NGF (Japan)
became operational.
1975

The installation of the first furnace is completed and heated.

Glass fibre production begins on July 1st.

The Bituminous blanket production for water insulation business starts through the knowhow of Ruberoidwerke (Germany)

1976
Cam Elyaf begins to produce roving.
1978
Raw material processing unit begins to operate.
1979
In additional to domestic market, Cam elyaf aims to expand sales
activity for foreign markets.
1981

Cam Elyaf takes the first step to produce unsaturated polyester resin with a capacity of 7.000 tons per annum under the licence agreement signed by Savid (Neoxil) company.

1982

GRP wine tanks is being produced for Doluca Company.

Sales contract is being made by Symalit Company in order to sell our
direct roving product for its GMT technology.

1983

Increasing export demand forces the need of an extra capacity.

1985

Construction work for the second furnace which would create annually 12.000 tons additional capacity begins.

Cam Elyaf also enhances product range and expands marketing operations. The participation to Dusseldorf K 85 is an important step to show its existence in the global composite industry.

1986
Cam Elyaf produces GRP bottle collection boxes in order to contribute to the efforts for recyclization of glass.
1987

The installation of the second furnace is completed and the production starts.

Cam Elyaf, innovatively begins to introduce new finished GRP products and presents modular cabins, stadium seats and inflammable waste bins as the first examples of GRP applications.

1989

GRP finished product unit begins to operate for introducing superior advantages of Composite materials over conventional materials.

Cam Elyaf particularly focuses on E.U markets and participates Plast ( Milano) exhibition for the first time.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is initiated in our main company Žižecam.

1990
The GRP delineator posts, produced by Cam Elyaf, started to be used by the Turkish Highway Authority.
1991
Cam Elyaf takes the first step to acquire Quality Management System Certificate TS EN ISO 9002
1992

Cam Elyaf participates in the K 92 exhibition for the first time.

1993

Cam Elyaf participates in the JEC exhibition.

1994

Quality Management System Certificate TS EN ISO 9002 is obtained.

1995

The construction work of the third furnace which would create annualy 20.000 tons additional capacity begins.

1996

The third furnace is initiated on August 5th.

1997

Cam Elyaf sets up a joint-venture with Mitras (German) for GRP production.

Multi end roving for Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC 3) and Chopped Strand for the reinforcement of Polypropylene ( PP1) is developed.

The existing capacity for polyester resin manufacturing is increased through the installation of new 30 tons capacity of reactor.

1998

Quality Management System Certificate ISO 9002 is renewed.

Cam Elyaf develops Chopped Strand Mat for sandwich truck panels and translucent panel (MAT 7),chopping roving for car headliners (KCR 4), chopped strand for thermoplastic applications (PBT 1/2) and orthopthalic unsaturated polyester resin for casting applications (CE 70)

1999

Business Excellence journey begins in parallel to the Total Quality Management (TQM).

Cam Elyaf develops single end roving for pultrusion, filament winding and weaving applications (WR2), orthophtalic unsaturated polyester resin for GRP panels ( CE 55) and orthophtalic gelcoat.

2000

Cam Elyaf develops orthophtalic unsaturated polyester resin for acrylic surfaces (CE 25),multi end roving for chopping applications (KCR 5) Chopped Strand for Bulk Moulding Compounds (BMC3) and single end roving for pultrusion, filament winding and weaving applications (WR 3).

2001
D channel investment is completed and production begins.
2003
Glass fiber production capacity is increased from 36.000 tons to 66.000 with a new furnace investment.
2004
Our product range was diversified with newly developed chopped strand products for the reinforcement of thermoplastics. (PA3, PA4, PP4 Chopped Strands), multi-end roving for spray up (KCR3) multi-end roving for chopping applications (KCR8)
2005

Cam elyaf participates JEC exhibition.

The institution of Turkish Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics manufacturers is founded in order to service GRP industry.

Cam Elyaf Sanayii A.S. joined to European Glass Fiber Producers Association (APFE).
